Are you the Fiber Installation Specialist we’re looking for?
To excel as a Fiber Installation Specialist at JCREMC, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with knowledge of fiber optic and STP cable structure. Understanding various ISP network architectures and topologies is essential, as is the ability to operate different vehicles and construction equipment. Proficiency in utilizing fusion splicers, OTDR, power meters, and power/hand tools is required for successful performance in this role.
The ability to interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and staking sheets is crucial, along with strong oral and written communication skills. A solid foundation in basic electricity and in-home wiring, coupled with knowledge of broadband, video, security, wireless, or voice services, will further contribute to your effectiveness in this position.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of fiber optic and STP cable structure
- Knowledge of various ISP network architecture and topology
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles and construction equipment
- Ability to utilize fusion splicers, OTDR, power meters, and power/hand tools
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering specifications, schematic, and staking sheets
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic electricity and in-home wiring
- Knowledge of broadband, video, security, wireless, or voice services
Preferred candidates will have the following:
- Experience in communications, data, telephony and/or video experience and education is a plus.
- Possession of Network+, as well as BICSI Installer 2 Optical Fiber or Copper (INSTC or INSTF) OR Technician (TECH) certifications is a plus.
- Previous home wiring and circuit troubleshooting experience is beneficial.
