SCI REMC has an opening for a Sr. Manager, Engineering due to a pending retirement. South Central Indiana REMC (SCI REMC) is a not-for-profit electric distribution, fiber optic internet provider, member-owned cooperative. The cooperative is a leader in distribution technology and is headquartered in a new and progressive facility in Martinsville, Indiana. SCI serves over 30,000 members and maintains nearly 36,000 meters. SCI REMC serves seven counties including Morgan, Monroe, Owen, Brown, Johnson, Putnam and Clay with nearly 4,000 miles of energized lines. SCI REMC also has a fiber division that services over 11,000 subscribers with high-speed broadband services to members’ homes, businesses and beyond.
The general objectives for this position include:
- Provide leadership and technical support that drives technology innovation and system integration improvements to minimize redundancy, improve operating efficiencies and reduce error. Recommend process improvements when appropriate.
- Lead highly visible, high impact special projects, as needed.
- Assist in the budget development for high impact projects, as well as coordinating the leading the RUS Construction Work Plan.
- Partner with internal departments to ensure quick & accurate response to system and process issues.
- Liaison with external subject matter experts/vendors
- Raise/maintain front-line employee’s awareness & involvement in process improvement that improves service to members.
- Make decisions & prioritize effort in a multi-task environment related to technology and system improvement’s that impact the total organization.
- Assisting with the maintenance of the engineering model.
- Assisting with the software maintenance of the SCADA system

** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS **
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering+ or related field is required. Professional Engineer certification (PE) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Ten years progressive leadership experience within an electric utility. Experience with a rural electric distribution system is preferred. Ten years field experience with supporting communications, integrated systems including SCADA/AMI/OMS applicants and various complex systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have the ability to identify and initiate improvements with various technical software and systems.
- Must be capable of preparing various reports and maintaining files and records for the efficient handling of this function.
- Must have the ability to maintain records, reports and files to assist and support department managers including Manager, ADMS-Smart Grid, Manager, System Operations and Manager, Engineering.
- Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
- Must be capable of communicating with all levels of management, employees, consumers, and the general public.
- Must be able to work effectively with others.
- Must be able to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone, and in person.
- Must be self-motivated and capable of handling several concurrent projects.
- Must be regular in work attendance.
