As Tipmont’s Distribution Engineer, you will support the delivery of reliable electricity to more than 25,000 members of an electric cooperative in north central Indiana. Our systems include SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), MDMS (meter data management systems) and DERMS (distributed energy resource management software). You’ll assist with the maintenance and management of associated equipment and communication devices, and you’ll also collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams on procedures, analyses and studies.
Duties that intrigue you include:
Designing and developing efforts to enhance Tipmont’s distribution systems
Monitoring and maintaining the performance of distribution systems
Troubleshooting and resolving distribution system issues
Collaborating with engineers to optimize distribution systems (e.g., SCADA)
Analyzing appropriate data to improve distribution system reliability and efficiency
Gaining, demonstrating and applying knowledge on alternative energy applications
Preparing technical reports and documentation as required
Coordinating with external partners as required
Maintaining current processes but also identifying opportunities to review / improve
Supporting the members of the electric cooperative
Facilitating communication between departments and to cooperative members

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college
Knowledge to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
Proficiency in Microsoft products
Aptitude and ability to learn new programs
Ability to be flexible and solve problems when needed
Preferred Skills:
Experience and knowledge of electrical distribution infrastructure
